Food – SVB

The restaurants here had among the best food we’ve had among our extensive travels – everything was always excellent! We have several suggestions to share.

The Chef’s Table

Among our most enjoyable parts of the trips – a personal room with glass walls/doors INSIDE the kitchen with 7 courses personally prepared – and presented – by the chef and paired with 5 separate bottles of wine. We can’t recommend this more! It’s an extra charge and highly special, only one table is offered per night, so I’d highly recommend this to elevate your special occasion.

The Wine Room at Bordeaux

During our visit to the Chef’s Table we made friends with Sergio, the Sommelier, and he recommended a follow-up visit to the Wine Room for another special dinner. We arranged to have a special menu prepared by the Chef, and we were once again amazed. The Wine Room has about 8 tables, but our special dinner came with a 6-course meal that ended with Chef Christina herself cooking Chateaubriand table side and serving us. We were blown away with the quality of food and over the top service we have enjoyed all week.

Oceana

We enjoyed breakfast (open to preferred members) with a morning view of the waves crashing onto the beach. The afternoon lunch had freshly grilled Mahi Mahi and shrimp options, and our dinner with medium rare tuna steak was followed by a fire show as they crafted a special after dinner coffee with liqueurs.

Capers

The Italian food was great, but worth noting it is located on the Dreams side of the resort so families and children are allowed, though it wasn’t something we noticed or even mildly affected the ambiance. There was a short wait when we arrived at 7pm and I was reminded by the hostess that collared shirts were required (along with pants and closed toed shoes for men, but I had that covered). Several pasta, fish, and chicken options had us fat and happy at the end of the night.
