Airport and Transportation – SCC

When arriving to the Punta Cana Airport (PUJ), we enjoy the VIP Services offered through the airport website. They greet you AT THE PLANE and take you to a lounge to relax. You give them your luggage tickets and they go retrieve your bags while you enjoy beer, sodas, chips, and snacks. They have their own Customs agent to review your passport and take care of your entry – no standing in line. The cost is typically ~$100 per person.

From the airport, we book private transportation to the resort. We use, and highly recommend, Mike Fisher’s company DWJ VIP Services. We’ve used them many times and they’ve been extremely accommodating when we’ve had last minute travel changes (canceled flight and stuck in the DR another day), and we’ve helped others who left sunglasses in their vehicles by bringing them back to the U.S. and shipping. The cost is on the website, and very similar to the shared van transportation you can find elsewhere. We always get picked up in nice, new, black Suburbans and the staff is always friendly.

They will typically pick you up about 3 hours before your flight to return to the airport. From SCC it’s only about a 15-20 minute drive but any international airport can have any number of delays or interruptions. It’s best to be safe.
