You can find the menu and dress code for restaurants, including the wine list and favorite recipes from the bars at http://secretscapcana.info
This is an all-inclusive resort. All you can eat, All you can drink, All you can sleep. They do have some special accommodations that cost extra, like a Romantic Dinner on the beach, Bali bed, more expensive bottles of wine if you choose. I recommend you try everything. If you don’t like it, or are still hungry, order something else. We’ve enjoyed starting at Himitsu for sushi as an appetizer, going to Bordeaux for steak, and then going to Portofino for some Italian cannoli or tiramisu for dessert.
First stop, if you have Preferred access, GO SEE Javier in the Preferred Lounge! He’s the best bartender we’ve ever had. Even the basic margarita is amazing, with Don Julio being our choice. Mini beers (shots) are also great.

Looking for something more refreshing? Check out The Secret Spot (located along the pathway between buildings 8 and 6, near the restrooms). They will make you a mixed drink or smoothie inside of a coconut and/or pineapple. They also have a book sharing spot for you to take/leave as you please.

Now that you’re enjoying the best drinks of the Caribbean, Rosewater is our absolute favorite for lunch. Every day I enjoyed grilled octopus, fried shrimp, and seared scallops poolside. It’s truly incredible.

For dinner, we loved Bordeaux (French), with filets, pumpkin soup (yes, pumpkin), and even trying some escargot for something new. Something important to note, they do require pants and closed toed shoes for men. There may be times where they overlook the dress code because of the heat, but it’s air conditioned inside and pleasant. The beef is good, but temper your expectations. This won’t be the equivalent of a $75 steak at an upscale steakhouse in the U.S., but it’s definitely good.

We also really enjoyed Oceana. Shorts are acceptable because this is an open air restaurant. It’s mostly seafood but they do have some other options. The salmon at SCC (Oceana and the Romantic Dinner on the beach) are the best I’ve ever had.

and Filet with potatoes
Himitsu (Japanese/Hibachi) was fun, but we weren’t really looking for a hibachi dinner in the Dominican. We did really enjoy getting a table for just us to have some sushi before dinner.

Pork Belly Fried Rice
El Patio (Mexican) is strangely among our least favorites. The food is good, but we prefer the other locations.

Market Cafe is the buffet style, serve yourself restaurant. We enjoyed the extensive breakfast options several times when we weren’t getting room service or going to Rosewater, but we seldom ate here for lunch… until we tried it. Fresh fruits, breads, extensive pastries, pizzas, crepes, chicken skewers, even sushi! There are so many options, and they were all really great. Here’s the things about buffets, and all-inclusive resorts for that matter: if you don’t like the food, order something else, or visit a different restaurant.
Coco Cafe is open for your caffeine and sweet fix. They make unbelievable milkshakes, coffee, pastries, and desserts. They’re located in the lobby and the staff is fun and engaging.
